What is Food Miles?

The distance food travel from the farm where it grown (source of origin) to any stores when you buy it, is what we call “Food Mile”.

Food imported by air consume a huge amount of fossil fuel when transport. Food travel in long-haul or medium-haul flights (e.g. from South Africa to Thailand, Australia to Thailand) contribute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, such as CO2 (the largest human-caused contributor to climate change), in the atmosphere. It’s not climate-friendly food.
